When you’ve learnt the right techniques for checking printers’ proofs, you can turn this arduous task into an enjoyable process. Importantly, you need to learn the rules and conventions so you can proofread confidently.
Proofreading is a lot more than simply fixing commas, full stops and spelling mistakes; it’s about making sure that the document is in the best shape possible for printing and publication.
When you proofread, you’re aiming for:

You not only have to make the right decisions when it comes to grammar and punctuation; you have to be able to justify your changes and convey them clearly to writers, graphic designers, printers and other colleagues, including bosses.
After this one-day workshop, you will:
In this workshop, you participate in hands-on exercises so you can practise putting your newly acquired proofreading skills into action. You are welcome to raise queries about your own (probably pressing) proofreading dilemmas so you can solve them once and for all.
The aim of the workshop is to enable you to apply easy solutions to the common problems that people encounter during proofreading and editing projects.
